A step-by-step guide to buying property in Victoria
- Find property or Land and do your due diligence.
- Engage a Conveyancer.
- Make an offer and add any Subject to Finance, Building and Pest inspection or other special conditions.
- Wait for your purchase to proceed to an Unconditional contract.
- The Vendor may request a release of the deposit. Ensure your conveyancer reviews the Section 27 deposit release documents.
- Complete your VOI, Client Authorisation and any forms your Conveyancer provides you with.
- Review the Statement of Adjustments and Settlement Statement your conveyancer sends you.
- Provide your Conveyancer with a bank account for any shortfall funds if your bank isn’t providing full funds.
- Arrange a final inspection with the Real Estate Agent within the 7 days prior to settlement.
- Settlement Day. Your conveyancer will advise you once the settlement is complete. You may then collect keys from the agent.
